Visa Assistance

The immigration and visa paperwork required for studying in Canada can be complicated. If you're not familiar with the different procedures and forms, getting a visa can feel bewildering. That's why CultureWorks has friendly, accessible Student Services Coordinators who are immigration experts to help guide you through the entire process. They will be happy to help you renew your study permit, apply for an entry visa and set up appointments for obtaining visas for the United States.

Information on applying for study permit extensions and new entry visas is available below.

Study Permit Extensions

To apply for an extension of your study permit, you will need:

  • The application form from Citizenship and Immigration Canada, which is available through the CultureWorks office or online at www.cic.gc.ca
  • The $125.00 processing fee for your application form
  • A bank statement showing sufficient funds
  • A letter of acceptance from a Canadian educational institution
  • A copy of your passport, current study permit and entry visa

International students who require Canadian entry visas should allow 6-8 weeks for a new entry visa. 

New Entry Visa Applications

To apply for a new entry visa, you will need the following:

  • The application form from the Consulate General of Canada, which is available through the CultureWorks office or online at http://www.dfait-maeci.gc.ca/buffalo
  • A bank statement showing sufficient funds
  • A letter of acceptance from a Canadian educational institution
  • A money order in the amount of $75.00 for a single entry or $150.00 for a multiple entry payable to “Canadian Consulate General”
  • A passport and valid Study Permit
  • Two passport photos
