ESL Teacher Position
Location – London or Oshawa
CultureWorks (www.culture-works.com) is an EAP/ESL school located on the campuses of King’s University College and Brescia University College in London, Ontario and on the campus of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa, Ontario. We are continually accepting applications for a teacher to join our dynamic team of 25 teachers and 200 students.
Reporting to the Principal, you will be responsible to:
- Plan and teach English for Academic Purposes to a culturally diverse student population in Intermediate through
- High-Advanced levels of study based on CultureWorks curriculum
- Teach online hours, which complement classroom hours
- Facilitate and actively participate in Canadian Studies activities on and off campus
- Generate accurate student reports
- Deal with student complaints equitably
- Participate in a team approach to deliver the curriculum by course and level of study
- Collaborate with fellow team members in creating program plans and assignments
- Cultivate positive relationships with staff, students, homestay families, and the campus communities
Required Qualifications:
- Eligible for TESL certification from a TESL Canada or TESL Ontario recognized institution
- 2 years ESL teaching experience
- Overseas teaching and cross-cultural experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
- Competency using Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching English for Academic Purposes
- Online teaching experience
